Settlements Administrator


Job overview | Ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of all transaction activity on behalf of clients whilst maintaining that we are compliant at all with CASS/COBS regulation 

Main tasks:

Administration
§  Processing and settlement of all trade activity ensuring client positions accurately reflect market positions at all times 
§  Processing of trade amendments ensuring we are CASS compliant at all times.
§  Daily reconciliation of settled and unsettled transaction activity.
 
Day to day tasks to include 
§  Daily CREST unmatched checking, to be completed and confirmed with dealers 
§  Dematerialisation of both UK and Foreign physical certificates
§  Processing of equity and bond settlements in both UK and wide range of foreign markets.
§  Investigation of unsettled transactions in all markets
§  Processing of unit trust settlement
§  Liaison with Global Custodian and Funds Custodians with regard to failed/unmatched trades 
§  Process trade amendments and reversals when required 
§  Complete daily control processes including but not limited to FX check, failing trade report,
§  Cash and stock account daily reconciliation.  
§  Daily communication with Investment Managers. 
§  Ensure Departmental Daily Check Lists are updated and completed
 

 

Special Projects/Other Duties
§  Where appropriate, requirement to assist with various projects within Investment Administration & development testing
§  Participation in the periodic regression testing 
§  In addition to the above functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be requested

 
 
 
 

Qualifications, skills, experience and competencies needed

 
Essential:          In the region of 1-2 years’ experience in a settlements, relevant Investment Administration, or settlements experience 
Knowledge and experience of FCA Regulations including CASS & COBS and Market Practice relevant to Private Clients
 
 
Advantageous: Previous knowledge of CREST, HSBCnet, Aegon, Clearstream 
Knowledge of Beta Global and eXimius systems 
 
Academic / Other Skills Required:
Educated to minimum of A-level standard, with minimum of Grade C at GCSE English and Maths 
Preferably holder of IOC (formerly known as IAQ), equivalent CISI qualification or willing to work towards achieving this 
Well organised
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to maintain required standards when working under pressure
Good attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
A reliable individual who works well within a team environment
Good IT skills, especially MS Excel
